Buy Telegram Stars with Crypto: USDT, USDC or BTC — No Card Needed
Buy Telegram Stars with crypto on Fragment: the GRAM, USDT and USDC networks that work, what to do with BTC or ETH, fees and KYC — no card needed.
Published · Updated · How we check
Yes — you can buy Telegram Stars with crypto, and no card, Apple Pay or App Store is involved. Fragment, Telegram's official marketplace, accepts GRAM (formerly TON) on the TON network, USDT on Ethereum, TON or Polygon, and USDC on Ethereum, Base or Polygon, at $0.015 per Star: 1,000 Stars cost $15 instead of $19.99 in the app. Bitcoin and ETH are not accepted directly — swap them to USDT, USDC or GRAM on an exchange first — and USDT on TRON (TRC20) or BNB Chain is not on the list either. Fragment asks for a one-time ID check (KYC) before your first purchase. Stablecoins on TON, Polygon or Base keep the network fee to a few cents.

Which Cryptocurrencies Can Buy Telegram Stars?
Fragment is the only official place that sells Telegram Stars for crypto, and its payment menu now has three coins: GRAM — the coin called Toncoin until June 2026 — on the TON network; USDT on Ethereum, TON or Polygon; and USDC on Ethereum, Base or Polygon. The price is the same whichever you pick: $0.015 per Star, so 100 Stars cost $1.50 and 1,000 cost $15.
Bitcoin, ETH, Solana and other coins are not on the list, and neither is USDT on TRON (TRC20) or BNB Chain — the networks many exchanges default to. If that is what you hold, convert or move it first; never send coins on a network Fragment does not show you.

Paying with USDT: Pick the Right Network
The network decides the fee. USDT on TON or Polygon, and USDC on Base or Polygon, cost a few cents to send. On Ethereum the same payment can cost a few dollars in gas — fine for a 10,000-Star order, painful for 500 Stars.
Each network also needs its own gas coin in the wallet: a little GRAM for USDT on TON, POL for Polygon, ETH for Base or Ethereum. A wallet holding only USDT will fail to send it.
Pay from your own wallet, not straight from an exchange withdrawal. Exchanges deduct their fee from the amount, so the payment can arrive short — withdraw to your wallet first, then pay.
Have Bitcoin or ETH? Swap First
Sell the BTC or ETH for USDT on an exchange, then withdraw the USDT on the TON or Polygon network to your wallet — or buy GRAM directly and withdraw it on TON. The trade itself costs from 0.1% on Bybit or OKX to 0.8% on Kraken Pro and about 1.2% on Coinbase Advanced for a new account (market orders, fees checked 8 October 2026); the calculator below shows each exchange that serves your country.
Watch the size of the order. A 1,000-Star purchase saves about $5 against the app, so a Bitcoin network fee of a few dollars to get the coins onto the exchange can eat most of it. Buy for a few months at once, or start from coins already sitting on the exchange.

What the Swap Costs at Each Exchange
Selling $150 of Bitcoin, enough for 10,000 Stars on Fragment. Switch the coin to ETH or change the amount; the network fee for withdrawing the USDT or GRAM comes on top.

How this is calculated: one sell order of $150 at each exchange's entry fee tier on its order book (taker fee for a market order). App and convert buttons add a spread that exchanges don't publish, so they are listed separately. Card purchases add a card fee shown at checkout; Kraken charges nothing for crypto deposits. A sale leaves the cash on the exchange: moving it to your bank costs what the exchange charges for that method (bank transfer, SEPA, wire), shown before you confirm. Kraken's $10 bonus is counted once: it needs a $100 bank or crypto deposit plus $100 traded, cards don't count.

No Card, No App Store, No Apple Pay: Your Options
Crypto on Fragment: $15 per 1,000 Stars, no card or app store involved, one-time KYC on Fragment. The cheapest option if you already hold stablecoins or GRAM.
An App Store or Google Play gift card: gift-card shops sell them for crypto. Redeem the card on your phone and buy Stars in the Telegram app (Settings → My Stars) — no card and no KYC on Telegram's side, but you pay the in-app price of $19.99 per 1,000.
Telegram app with a card or store balance: the default route — fastest, no ID check, the most expensive.
KYC and Privacy
Paying with crypto does not make the purchase anonymous. Fragment has required a one-time identity check through Sumsub since November 2024 (ID document and face scan), exchanges know who bought the coins, and every payment is visible on a public blockchain.
What crypto does avoid is the bank and the app store: no card statement, no Apple or Google account involved, and no app-store markup on the price.

Step-by-Step Instructions
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I buy Telegram Stars with crypto?
Yes. Fragment, Telegram's official marketplace, accepts GRAM (formerly TON), USDT on Ethereum, TON or Polygon, and USDC on Ethereum, Base or Polygon. 1,000 Stars cost $15 there.
Can I buy Telegram Stars with USDT?
Yes — USDT on the TON, Polygon or Ethereum networks. USDT on TRON (TRC20) and BNB Chain is not accepted, so move it to TON or Polygon first; those two cost a few cents to send.
Can I buy Telegram Stars with Bitcoin?
Not directly. Sell the BTC for USDT or GRAM on an exchange, withdraw to your own wallet on a network Fragment accepts, and pay there.
Can I buy Telegram Stars with Ethereum?
Not with ETH itself. USDT or USDC on the Ethereum network are accepted, but gas makes small orders expensive — USDC on Base or USDT on Polygon is the cheaper way to pay from an Ethereum-style wallet.
How do I buy Telegram Stars without a card or Apple Pay?
Pay with crypto on Fragment, or buy an App Store or Google Play gift card with crypto, redeem it and buy Stars in the Telegram app at the in-app price.
Do I need KYC to buy Stars with crypto?
On Fragment, yes — a one-time identity check through Sumsub. Buying inside the Telegram app, including with a redeemed gift card, does not require it.
Which network is cheapest for buying Stars?
TON, Polygon and Base cost a few cents per payment. Ethereum can cost a few dollars, so keep it for large orders.
How fast do Stars arrive after a crypto payment?
Usually within a minute or two of the payment confirming; Ethereum can take a little longer when the network is busy.
